Attached unemployment is a type of temporary layoff in which a company files weekly unemployment claims for the people it has laid off. Traditionally, manufacturers have used attached unemployment, but now more and more small businesses are adopting it.[1] In some cases, the company continues to pay health insurance to the temporarily laid off employee.
