Ergonomics is an applied science that studies human capabilities in relation to their work, essentially the science of work, and aims to reduce the development of cumulative trauma disorders, which are caused or aggravated by repetitive motions such as those used when operating a computer regularly. There is a push for ergonomics in the workplace, both by the government and private groups. Experts suggest a variety of ways to improve worker productivity and safety through ergonomic design of tasks, work stations, tools and equipment.
