Each year on December 1, we start counting down the days until Christmas by listing each day a few “Great Places to Shop Local.” These lists aren’t meant to be a directory of all the great places in a town or neighborhood. They are simply a reminder that shoppers have choices to shop at a locally owned and operated retailer, restaurant or other types of shops, markets or services for holiday gifts. If you want to see the entire list, visit the SmallBusiness.com Guide to Great Places to Shop Local for the Holidays.

If you would like to e-mail us a list of ten great examples of places that show-off the creative and special types of shops in your town, look at some examples of previous towns we’ve featured and send your list to [email protected].

We can’t use all the submissions or all of the suggestions, but we will try. Please include a sentence describing each of your suggestions. And include your name and website or social-media username so that we can give you credit.

Here is a list of some of last year’s “Great Places to Shop Local for the Holidays.
