According to a new report from Gallup, How Millennials Want to Work and Live, employees who were born in the 1980s and 1990s have a very different approach to employment than employees who are older. That’s not surprising. But how they are different is.

Millennials are a flight risk

According to Gallup, Millenials switched jobs in past last year at a rate more than three times higher than non-millennials who have the same job.

21% | Switched jobs in the past year
60% | Are open to different job opportunities

Millenials believe that moving up the ladder or changing work roles means moving to a new company.

93% | Left their employer the last time they changed roles

So what exactly do Millennials look for in their job searches?

Gallup says Millennials are “consumers of the workplace.” They shop around for the jobs that best align with their needs and life goals. And here are some of the things they indicate are important in their search.

  • Opportunities to learn and grow
  • Quality of manager
  • Quality of management
  • Interest in type of work
  • Opportunities for advancement

Time to rethink ping-pong tables and creativity

In recent years, companies have put in game rooms and implemented casual dress codes and focused on a culture of fun and flexibility. That’s what millennials like, right? Actually, no.

Millennials place little importance on:

  • Whether or not a company encourages creativity
  • Whether or not a company is a fun place to work
  • Whether or not a company offers an informal work environment.

Millennials place a lot of importance on:

  • Why and how an organization will help them learn, develop and advance their careers.
