Employment in nonfarm private small business payrolls rose 78,000 in August, according to the ADP Employment Report. The gain in small business jobs accounted for 38 percent of the gains in employment across all sizes of businesses. In the small business category, half of the employment growth contribution was associated with companies having between 1-19 employees.

  • Very Small businesses (1-19 employees) +30,000
  • Other Small businesses (20-49 employees) +37,000
