SanDisk will soon release a 200 GB microSD card for mobile devices that is waterproof, X-ray proof, magnet proof and temperature proof. How much memory is that? According to SanDisk, the Ultra microSDXC UHS-I Card can store up to 20 hours of HD video.

While the price ($400) is steep, the  capacity means it unlikely you’ll run out of room for storing anything you want to shoot, saver or share. And, as this chart demonstrates, the price of memory historically moves downward at a steady pace. So, if you’re in a business (say, photography) where you can justify the math, you’ll know the economic justification for being an early adopter.

For the rest of us, a little patience means one of these can be in our not too distant future.
