“I don’t believe in anti-anything. A man has to have a program; you have to be for something, otherwise you will never get anywhere.”

Harry S. Truman
Lecture at Columbia University (April 28, 1959)

Today (May 8, 2017) is the 133rd anniversary of the birth of Harry S. Truman. While his most famous quote, “The buck stops here,” wasn’t really an original quote, he popularized it forever by displaying the adage on a desktop plaque sent to him by a fan.

One thing is certain: Truman was the master of plainly spoken, no-nonsense wisdom from the heartland of America.
