In an effort to be more business-friendly, Google announced yesterday that its video-chat service, Hangouts, will no longer require a Google+ account. All that is required now is a Gmail account or the business-oriented version of Gmail called Google Apps for Business.

“The goal of (the change) is to make it easier for employees and businesses to communicate by video,” a Google spokesperson told TechCrunch. “Our customers recognize the value of connecting face-to-face and are driving this demand.”
