Yesterday, we linked to Search Engine Land’s report that Google’s head spam-cop, Matt Cutts, told a group of search marketers that a new version of its anti-spam algorithm called Panda is going to be more small business friendly.
As a followup, here is a YouTube video from last May in which Cutts warns that small businesses should steer clear of the types of “black hat” practices that gets them dinged by Google–and that if they use, even a friendlier Panda probably won’t help.
It’s worth watching if, for no other reason, you will understand why you’ve disappeared from Google search results after paying that guy you met on the internet who guaranteed he’d make you the first result on Google.
